24 घंटे में खुली चेन लूट की गुत्थी, चाय पीने के बहाने करता था रेकी, आरोपी गिरफ्तार

हापुड़। रेलवे रोड क्षेत्र में चाय विक्रेता से हुई चेन लूट की घटना का हापुड़ नगर पुलिस ने महज 24 घंटे के भीतर पर्दाफाश कर दिया। पुलिस ने घटना को अंजाम देने वाले आरोपी जावेद अहमद को गिरफ्तार कर उसके कब्जे से लूटी गई पीली धातु की चेन तथा दिल्ली से चोरी की गई एक अपाचे मोटरसाइकिल बरामद की है। पुलिस की जांच में सामने आया कि आरोपी कई दिनों से चाय पीने के बहाने दुकान पर पहुंचकर रेकी कर रहा था और चाय विक्रेता के गले में चेन देखकर उसने लूट की साजिश रची थी।

जानकारी के अनुसार 26 जून को रेलवे पार्क के पास स्थित एक चाय विक्रेता से चेन छीनने की घटना सामने आई थी। दिनदहाड़े हुई इस वारदात से पुलिस महकमे में हड़कंप मच गया था। मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए रेलवे रोड चौकी प्रभारी गौरव राज ने जांच शुरू की। घटनास्थल के आसपास लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरों की फुटेज खंगाली गई और स्थानीय लोगों से पूछताछ की गई। जांच के दौरान चाय की दुकान के बराबर में स्थित जूस विक्रेता से महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी मिली। जूस विक्रेता ने पुलिस को बताया कि एक युवक ने 25 जून को उसकी दुकान पर जूस पीकर 40 रुपये का ऑनलाइन भुगतान किया था। पुलिस ने ऑनलाइन भुगतान की डिटेल निकलवाई तो संबंधित मोबाइल नंबर आरोपी जावेद अहमद का निकला। इसके बाद सर्विलांस टीम की मदद से नंबर की लोकेशन ट्रेस की गई और सीसीटीवी फुटेज से उसकी पहचान की पुष्टि हुई।

रेलवे रोड चौकी इंचार्ज गौरव राज ने तकनीकी साक्ष्यों के आधार पर कार्रवाई करते हुए आरोपी को आनंद विहार बिजलीघर के पास से गिरफ्तार कर लिया। पूछताछ में उसने चेन लूट की घटना स्वीकार कर ली। उसके कब्जे से लूटी गई चेन बरामद कर ली गई। साथ ही उसके पास से एक अपाचे मोटरसाइकिल भी मिली, जो थाना मयूर विहार ईस्ट, दिल्ली में दर्ज वर्ष 2020 के चोरी के मुकदमे से संबंधित निकली।

थाना प्रभारी के अनुसार गिरफ्तार आरोपी जावेद अहमद पुत्र नवाब अली निवासी पीरबाऊद्दीन, थाना हापुड़ नगर है। थाना हापुड़ नगर में दर्ज मुकदमा संख्या 349/2026 के तहत कार्रवाई करते हुए आरोपी को जेल भेजने की प्रक्रिया पूरी की जा रही है।

स्थानीय सूत्रों के अनुसार आरोपी आर्थिक तंगी से जूझ रहा था। बताया जाता है कि हाल ही में उसके घर बेटी का जन्म हुआ था और उपचार व अन्य खर्चों के कारण उस पर करीब 50 हजार रुपये का कर्ज हो गया था। इसी आर्थिक दबाव के चलते उसने चेन लूट की योजना बनाई और वारदात को अंजाम दिया। हालांकि पुलिस अधिकारियों ने इस संबंध में आधिकारिक पुष्टि नहीं की है।

Chain Snatcher Arrested Within 24 Hours; Online Payment Trail Helps Hapur Police Crack Case

Hapur: Hapur Nagar Police successfully solved a chain-snatching case within 24 hours of the incident and arrested the accused, recovering the stolen yellow-metal chain and a stolen Apache motorcycle from his possession.

According to police, the accused, Javed Ahmad, son of Nawab Ali and a resident of Peerbauddin, Hapur, had been visiting a tea stall near Freeganj Road for several days under the pretext of drinking tea. During these visits, he allegedly conducted reconnaissance of the area and noticed the tea vendor wearing a chain around his neck. Police said he then planned and executed the chain-snatching incident.

The crime took place on June 26, 2026, near Railway Park, where the accused allegedly snatched the chain from the tea vendor and fled the scene. The incident created a stir in the local police department, prompting an immediate investigation.

Railway Road Outpost In-charge Gaurav Raj led the probe and examined CCTV footage from the area while questioning local shopkeepers. A crucial breakthrough came from a nearby juice vendor, who informed police that the suspect had purchased juice on June 25 and made an online payment of ₹40.

Police traced the mobile number linked to the digital transaction and, with the assistance of surveillance teams, tracked the suspect’s location. CCTV footage further helped confirm his identity. Acting on the technical evidence, police arrested Javed Ahmad near Anand Vihar Bijli Ghar within 24 hours of the crime.

During the arrest, police recovered the stolen chain and an Apache motorcycle (DL7SBU6290). Investigation revealed that the motorcycle had been reported stolen in FIR No. 6512/2020 registered at Mayur Vihar East Police Station, Delhi.

Hapur Nagar Police stated that the accused was arrested in connection with Case Crime No. 349/2026 under Section 304(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further legal proceedings are underway.

According to local sources, Javed was allegedly facing financial difficulties and had accumulated a debt of around ₹50,000 following the birth of his daughter and related medical expenses. It is suspected that financial pressure may have motivated him to commit the crime, though police have not officially confirmed this aspect.

Police officials said the swift detection of the case was made possible through a combination of CCTV analysis, digital payment records, surveillance, and prompt field investigation. The department reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and taking strict action against criminal activities in the district.
